I have worked in a company as a Doctorand for 15 months with Aufenthaltsbewilligung. I contributed rente and arbeitslosversicherung. Last month I joined at a new company with a normal Arbeitserlaubnis & Aufenthaltserlaubnis of 5 years. Now is my Probezeit until February 2005. Here is my question:

Will I be eligible for Arbeitslosgeld if I loose my job any time now as I already worked here 15 months with Aufenthaltsbewilligung and 1 month with Aufenthaltsbewilligung?
How much and how long can I get arbeitslosgeld?

more info:
is your visum GC?
is it bounded to firma?
does it "erlischt mit beendigung der Tätigkeit"

generaly according to law it should erlischen ...
but if you were lucky your Visum could be without that text.
if you were not lucky than after loosing job you have no Visum meaning you are in Germany ilegaly.
If it is so AA will send you to ABH and they will give you short Visum to find job.
Actually even if Visum says not "erlischt..." it is stil bounded to job because GClaw says so. But people in AA do not know that.

there is another thing
after 1.1.05 there is no GC, and after doing Praktikum you could maybe obtain 1 year Visum to get job because you just finished studium (Promotion).

However if your Visum is valid without job or if you get some period to search for job you should receive ALGeld during this period for maximum 6 months.

Thank you very much for your reply. Actually in my Aufenthaltserlaubnis (valid until September 2009) it is stated that I am permitted to work for X company as an consultant. There is nothing written about expirity.
My question is that will I get any Arbeitlosgeld if I loose my job within this probezeit. It should be stated that I already worked here for more than 15 months full-time with Aufenthaltsbewilligun. But now I have Aufenthlatserlaubnis.

write down exactly what is in your pass written.

if it is Visum binded to company (seems so) and not GC than could be that you are out of De if you loose job, without any posibility to search for job.
only GC get some time to search for job, others not.

are you sure you'll get fired.
explain to company that you are weg from Germany if they fire you so that they give you 3-6 months to search for job.

in worst case maybe you can try to get 1 year to search for job after Studium (Praktikum)
