I'm a student here in Germany. I have a residence and work permits (90full days/180 half days) that ends last year July 2012. Deuring the period I'm holding this permits I have worked upto 180 half days.

In August, I got another work permits with the new law (i.e. 120 full days/240 half days). So for the remaining part of the year 2012 (August to December) I was bound by the new law and worked about 80 half days.

The problem is that the authority wanted to calculate all the time I worked during 2012 despite a change of law. Please I need clarrification.
