Verpflichtungserklärung - is Original Document needed at Immigration

Toggle
Hi

I am Inviting my FIL, from Chennai to Berlin.

I have obtained the Verpflichtungserklärung  from Berlin and couriered him, but he has not yet received it, meanwhile I dropped a copy of Verpflichtungserklärung in fax to the embassy in chennai and based on that he has got is visa now.

My Question is, will the immigration depeartment ask for the original 'Verpflichtungserklärung' or will a copy of that should be fine.

Can any one let me know your view on this.

Hello,

Last year my friend invited his elder brother to Berlin on visit visa along with his family.
He scaned and send Verpflichtungserklärung from here and they took color printout in India and carried all the way untill they reached Berlin. No where they were asked to show Verpflichtungserklärung.

Best regards,
Mohamm
