Unemployment escape with a decent salary

Toggle
HI,

I'm an unemployed Greencarder since 1th of March 2004
and currently my search for a new job was not
successful. This week I had one interview for a
software development position for an internal project
for Arbeitsagentur, almost all was ok, the project is
very interesting but the salary offered is very small,
smaller than the amount of money I receive netto
monthly. I live in Frankfurt am Main, my wife is
pregnant and our child comes in December, and for this
project we have to relocate to Nürenberg. What I know
is that legally I can ask for relocation financial
support( furniture movement, house estate agent cost
etc.) and I know that for me as a Greencarder there is
a minimum wage limit of 39600 Euros per year, this
money should be enough for my family for a decent life
but Arbeitsagentur wants to pay under this amount even
if they told me that this is the minimum limit. I want
to know if I'm allowed legally to refuse this job
offer if they don't want to pay a decent salary, at
least as much as they established that is the minimum
limit because than I will have basically not enough
money to live and feed my family. Basically all what I
want is a salary, big enough for us to survive
decently. Best regards,

Hi,

That's really a hard situation, what I find specially disturbing is that they are willing to break their "own" rules.

This are all the links I found doing a quick search on the topic, maybe they can give you more information.

http://www.anti-hartz.de/

Ask your labor office, in writing, about the consequences of refusing it, because since you have only been unemployed for 5+ months some penalties may not apply to you. If this is the case, you could tell them that you would be willing to take the position for the minimum stipulated limit for a GC holder (€39600) if you think this would be enough, for example. If they do not agree, ask them if there would be other non-monetary things that they could do for you.

Good luck.
