I dont understnad why Schroeder is making such an impression during his visit in India:

IT wizards, Germany's calling you!

October 08, 2004 13:26 IST

Indian IT professionals would gain from new German emigration laws that have vastly eased the entry of skilled personnel into the European country.

"Rules have been changed with the new legislation on emigration," the visiting German Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder said, adding that the new law had taken into account humanitarian and economic aspects.

Situation has significantly improved, Schroeder said, welcoming Indian skilled workers to Germany.

India's skilled professionals have made an 'important' contribution to German economy and helped his country become more international in its outlook, he said at his and Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's interaction with the media on Thursday.

The number of work permits or 'green cards' was limited to 20,000 which was later changed when the German Federal Cabinet approved the extension of the so-called 'green card initiative' for foreign IT specialists.

As per the new regulation, first time applications can now be submitted until 31 December 2004. The new regulation also cancels the earlier fixed maximum number of 20,000 work permits.

Through the extension of the scheme, the German government has responded to the still existing demand for highly qualified personnel.

Until August 31, 2003, a total of 15,110 green cards has been granted, out of which 4,072 were given to Indian nationals, who represent by far the biggest national group of German green card holders.

He he he.. :-)
This article is funny.. I mean "lying" is part of the job of being a politician I guess.. Thanks god.. I am not politician..

Let's analyze the lies included in this article..

"new German emigration laws that have vastly eased the entry of skilled personnel into the European country."
--> Really ? by setting a salary limit of 84K ? is this what you call "vastly eased" ? I mean.. come on.. such a lie..

"Situation has significantly improved, Schroeder said, welcoming Indian skilled workers to Germany."
--> Situation improved ? ahh.. really ? so could you tell us in which aspects it improved ? Regarding "Unemployment rates" or "Immigration law" or "IT Job Market" ... ? sorry.. but none of them improved in any aspects.. such a lie...

ok.. guys.. wish you nice weekend.. anyways.. :-)

He just 4got to tell them "Rules have been changed with the new legislation on emigration, *no you got to do your best and get in your dream a job paying 84K and materialize it*".

Man, yeah things changed:
- there's no GC anymore
- GCs who are are worry for their future
- salaries are going down on somep place
- you got virtually no chance to get a job without speaking German
- ...

4got the other points but in a word, as they say in my country, saying half a true is saying a lie.

There are some that have benefits from ZuwG.
First non IT engineers now have chance.
Second students in Germany.
Even we GClers will get NE easier with ZuwG.

But situation in IT is quite bad, that is true.

On the other hand I see his intensions.
He wants that what makes USA science strong for years.
He wants cheap indian doktorands, that will make
miracles in science and economy for very litle money.

Hi
I am not a student but just curious about the benefits of new Immigration law regarding students..

I believe it gives a period of one year to look for a job after finishing a german university..

Nice.. but this student still has to :

-> Prove that he/she has enough financial support in this one year, during the job search.

-> comply with 84k rule.

if this is the case.. I am afraid this is not such an improvement for students.. as it is difficult for a fresh graduate to get that salary..
(maybe with a doctor title.. but why should I stay in Germany when I have doctor title?.. :-)

Lacrima 84k is only important to get NE at once.
You can get normal AE even if you have 14k if your occupation is on the list of skills needed in De

"Nice.. but this student still has to :

Proving enough financial support for a student in Germany is very very easy. The students in Germany know how to do this in any case. So I think we can disregard this financial support issue for students. This may not be any important issue when we talk about their opportunity based on the new immigration law.
This is the best opportunuty for a student without any doubt.

I can tell you that I know lots of people who would be happy if they had this conditions after studium.
Lots of them had in Visum written that they must leave De after studium.
