Hello GC Friends,

I have a question regarding average yearly salary rise in Germany for the GCs.
This will be my second year in the company and I am planning to ask for a salary rise of about %5 which is an acceptable rise I guess when we consider %3 inflation rate in Germany.
So how was the experience that you guys gained regarding this ?
Am I asking too low, too high ? is yearly salary rise a general practice among the german companies.
I would be glad, if you guys could share your experience.
Thanks in Advance

Cudalbuc,

I have 2 years completed in Germany and got no rise until now. You are lucky to get a %15.

3150 euros? That is your netto (after taxes cuts) or brutto (total)salary?
I thinked that a yearly salary of ca. 50000 was a requirement for the GCs?

Gus,

The basic requirement for a German work permit under the ‘Green Card’ scheme is a valid job offer for an annual salary of 77,400 DM / € 39,575, if the applicant holds an IT relevant university degree, or 100,000 DM/ € 51,130, if he/she doesn’t.

Hope this helps.

The € 39,575 level is applicable for jobs within the territory of former West Germany. The limit for East Germany is lower.

Salaries below this limit are possible, subject to an individual assessment where the salary must be compared with the local standards.
