I am thinking of furnishing a house in India with the furniture from shops here in Germany, especially kitchen and bathroom. I enquired some shops like Reddy Kueche and asked if they can deliver things directly to India ? they asked me to go and meet them personally and they think it should be possible.

I would be interested to know if anyone did buy some furniture and send/export/deliver/transport them to India ? How about the economics ? Does it turn out to be expensive in the end ? How about import duties or something if we are entitled to pay at the time of reception in India ?

Please do share your experiences and throw light on this aspect..

uhmmm, actually I am planning the other way around (from my home country in Sudamerica) to Germany.

But I am considering stuff like sofas, beds, tables wardrobe, and so forth. Of course, I want to buy things with high quality, not IKEA-like.

Why do you want to do that? I mean, for me is clear that all such things are more expensive here than almost everywhere.
