12sq.m / person is the rule. But its quite obvious that 24 sq.m is not enough for 2 persons. Beamter/in can reject the application in such cases.

Personally I rented a 2 rooms apartment (55 sq.m) and I didn't had any issue.

Please check with the current application procedures. When I applied, I submitted my house contract along with appln.

I heard from a friend that 50qm is of no problem.. it all depends on the beamter but its better not to fall on their radar emoticon

Don't expect Beamter/in to be so kind when you apply for a Family Reunion visa with a single room apartment of 31 sq.m

We had same kind of problem last yr, but my husband took a letter from the house owner saying the space is enough to accommodate one more person. After I came here only we shifted to 2 room apt.

@PaddySriram,

thank you very much for the info.
i need some more info:
1. from which city your husband applied for visa for you (in Germany)?
2. what was the area of that room (or apt)? mine is 31 sq.mt.
3. did he faced any qus from here (foreign office)?

thank you onceagain.

Ans to your qus
1. Friedberg - Hessen
2. Think 35 or 36 Q.mt but single room.
3. No. But I think the letter from the owner is important ofcourse in their letter head or their stamp.

Hi,
today i went to Auslandbehörde and i enquired about the room area requirements.
she said that we count 12 sqmt per head, so you can apply with your present room area (31 sq.mt).
and she explained some other things that all of you know (like..language, marriage query, and the proess....)

thank you onceagain for your responses.
