Hi,

I have been living in Germany for 9+ years. Now, I want to apply for German Citizenship.

Out of 9+ years:
- 2 years I did MSc
- 3 years Phd under visa Abs. 16
- 4+ years of employment after PhD

I got NE at the end of 2010. For this they counted 50% of my PhD time.

I am in Baden Württemberg and have a permanent job.

Am I eligible for German Citizenship? I have the feeling that student time is not counted in the 8 years requirement for citizenship.Is this correct?

Yes. As per latest rule change in BW you should be eligible

I dont live in BaWü but probably your Einbürgerungsbehörde could tell you more.
