Hi to all,
Yesterday i came from India. this time i brought a handycam (sony) with me from India (gift from a cousine). Customs in Airport stopped me and collected 74 € as tax and fine(37+37).

my mistake is, i brought with packing. Even she didnt agreed to take money without fine.
Anybody is having exp like this. Handy cam worth is 400$.

Shit happens. If they catch you then you pay the fine as well, but if you have volunteered then you could have got away only with the Tax.

@sinu,
Are you sure that one part of 37+37 was a fine, as during my time itself i paid around 1200 euros :-( for the BOSE system i purchased from Doha qatar. The officer told me that time that the Customs was 14% and over and above that the VAT would be added after adding 14%.

If you take 14% of 400$ and then add 19% of it would it be only 37 euros or more?

they converted into Euros. then they charged me.
i paid only 74€.
you 1200€ as vat+tax+....??? my god..instead of that u would have given a gift to that officer???
