Tourist Visa to Germany

I would like to have your advice regarding the tourist visa to Germany. My mother applied for a tourist visa at the Madras Consulate in India. She had already visited me once in 2003. This time apart from the invitation letter I sent they are asking for some Verplichtserklärung from the Auslander amt here in Germany. Is this something new as I am hearing this for the very first time. Last time it went on well with just the invitation letter. Even all my friends who invited their family members got a visa with just the invitation letter.
Can anyone with similiar experience throw some light for my problem?

Hello

Yes, You need so-called Verplichtserklärung to invite
your relatives or friends. You get it from your Auslaenderbehoerde.

By the way, You need the following papers when you apply
for this Verplichtserklärung.

1. Your PASSPORT.
2. Anmelde Bescheinigung or Bestaetigung.
3. Last three months salary slip.
4. Information about the person whom you suppose to invite.
( Like First Name :, Last Name, Date of birth , Address etc. )
5. Your arbeitsvetrag.
6. 25 EUR -- ( Gebuehr )
7. 30 Min. Time

Hope this may help you !

Thanks for the advice shino.
One last question. Should we send this document to India by post or is just a fax enough?

Hi Chandra,

I don't think this could be a problem for you if you are not jobless. I think the tourist visa you applied before differs from the one you are applying now. The new one probably is called visiting visa and for this you need to go to your local rathaus you don't need to go to Auslaenderbehoerde.

You need to post the original document.

greetings,

The reason I suggested you rathaus is because you don't need to carry so many documents with you and it takes less time to accomplish your task. You need money for the application fees, your passport and last month pay slip.

You r right!, Depending on the Region, you go either Auslaender Behoerde or Rathouse.I did it
in the Aulander Behoerde.
