I wonder whether someone can help me:
I am Iranian living in Germany and applied for German Passport. Germany accepted my case but needs give up from my Iranian Nationality. Giving up from Iranian Nationality is formally impossible , Does anybody have any idea or experience in this regard.

a colleague of mine is iranian and says that
the result will be that you have two
nationalities. You won't have problems with
travelling but once in trouble, you will be
treated as Iranian in the countries with good
relationship to the Islamic Republic of Iran.
In the western countries you will be supported
by the german authorities according to "geltende
Regeln".

If the Iranian government is angry with you for
your try to give up the Iranian nationality (and
what they would do to punish you), is an open
issue. But no Iranian has considered this
in the last years. They hesitated to give it up.

What is very important for the process is that
you never hurt the trust of the german
authorities. It must be clear that you
have honest and good reasons to be german.
