Swiss WP/NE for a Geman NE Holder?

Hi All,

Wishing you and your family a very Happy, healthy and prosperous Year 2011!!!

I do hold NE for Germany and would be moving to Swiss for an year or so. I would like to have your insights on Swiss WP:

Q1) Is there a benefit of having german NE, when applying for a swiss WP?
- Am I entitled for a swiss WP directly?
- Or does it make the WP process easier?

Note: One of my friend who applied for Swedish WP (after working for 4+ years german) was told that if he had german NE, he would have got the Swedish NE immeditely.

Q2) As I have NE, I am also eligible for DE-EG (Daueraufenthalt-EG). If I get that, do I still need to apply for Swiss WP?
If yes, will having DE-EG help me in getting the Swiss WP faster (normal lead time 8-10 weeks)?

Q3) When I work from Swiss, will my German NE still remain valid?
