I have applied for the german citizen three month ago. Today I called Einbürgerungsamt and tey told that in iwo weeks I will get answer. The guy told me that our family name may be need to changed.

Name situation are like this.
My Vorname: Akbar
Last name: Nazir
My wife 's Last name is my first name: Nazir and the same for children.
At the time of register, Stadtsamt told that this is according to German rules. But Einbürgerung thinks it need to be changed.
Does any body has experinced?

one of my friend has similar first/last name combination for wife and children. But he got his and his child citizenship w/o any question. Actually should not be a problem whatever name you choose unless/untill your kid or wife name is same as yours ;-)
