Dear All,

One of my friends is coming to Germany from India as a company transfer.He has a query regards insurance.

His company arranges for travel and medical insurance(Bajaj Allianz) for him and his family(Wife and daughter).However, this insurance does not cover maternity expenses and they are expecting a baby later this year.

Can you please let us know , If they can get an insurance which covers maternity expenses as well?
I have heard that Allianz insurance may cover this but the costs are high. Can you please give us some idea regards the approx.costs of insurance ?

Also, Can him and his kid continue to avail the company provided insurance while his wife get shifted to other more comprehensive insurance? and what about the insurance for the new born?

Any tips regards selecting the insurance co.?

Good question... I would say Indian insurance in no use in Germany... better get local insurance... if you use indian insurance you need to pay everything from your pocket initially and later claim, that to they may give or not!!! Better ask them to take Local German Insurance...

Good ones are Allianz is very good company also you have another one Centralkrankenversicherung at

but one thing if she is pregnant, it is very difficult to get an insurance.. .since right from begining Insurance has to spend lots of money on Pregnent women.. .but try through companies group insurance, they may accept...

Go with Private insurance (like Allianz or Central like that)
