I would like to know what is the exact procedure for re-scheduling a visa appointment to an earlier date.

Currently the visa slots for an earlier date are not available so I keep calling the VFS helpline in Mumbai to ask if slots have opened up.

Does anyone have any experience for re-scheduling the appointment date?

Hi,

Yes you can do it, by cancelling the existing appointment and check for the available dates and book an appointment.

if the dates what you are looking for is not present in online. then you cannot book it.

In Mumbai there are no options to view the dates online so calling the VFS help line is the only option.

As per my latest conversation with them, they told me that I need to confirm the dates by calling them and then write an email for re-scheduling.

There is no option to re-schedule via phone.

The rates for national visa in Bengaluru are on this website on the right side

Currently it is INR 4400 which changes monthly. I suggest you check the website 1-2 days prior and get the DD made.
