I need some help.

I need information in regard with changing student visa into self employment visa. How it can be done and what are the requirements for that and how long does it take to do that.

I am here in Germay and almost about to finish my studies but I see some potentials to start something on my own. It would be very kind of you if anyone has some information to share in this regard.

It says that after new Residence Act from 1st August 2012, after you have job search visa you may enter into employment or self-employment without any restrictions.

Please give your views on it and help.

   Have you graduated from a German university? Have you obtained a resi-
   dence permit for employment or research as a researcher or academic?
   In these instances, you can already receive a residence permit for self-em-
   ployment if the intended work is related to your university education or
   previous work as an academic or researcher (section 21 subs. 2a Residence
   Act).
   Residence titles for self-employment are issued for a maximum of three
   years. #
