Does anyone familier with how to get documents notarized in Germany? and how much does this cost? What would be the procedure to get the translated documents notarized? I am looking forward for an urgent response !

find in internet or in phone book a telephone number of your local Notariat and call them - they will answer all your questions. normally you have to call them first and agree on a date and time when it can be done.

As for translated documents - what exactly do you mean? you need to certify that some copy of a document represents original? or you need to certify a fact of existence of some contract or some declaration of intent?

If you want to get some translated or photcopied certificate/drivers-license ATTESTED, you can go to your local Rathaus, and someone there will do it for you. I had to pay €2.50 for each attestation.

If a NOTARISATION is demanded, then you should contact a Notar of your area. To my understanding a Notar is something above a lawyer. Just enter the word "Notar" and your place and do a search in "Das Oertliche":

as soon as you got your document certified by a notary, you just need a certified translator to translate it into the language you need.

Notar can't possibly make such a thing unless they know the language your document translated in and are allowed to make certified translations => i wouldn't hope to find such a Notar

You should order a certified translation from one translator who is allowed to do it. The list of those translators should be available in your Landgericht.

You could contact your embassy as well and ask them whether they can do it for you. If they can, better let them do it instead of a translator, just because not every country will recognise a certified translation made by a german translator ;)
