I am a PhD student in Germany on a stipendium. My salary is 1800 EUR (1400 EUR + 400 EUR allowance paid every month). I have been in Germany for 2.5 years on Aufentaltstitel 16 and don't pay tax since I am on a stipend. I got married last month and plan to apply for a dependent visa for my wife from Chennai consulate. I am also planning to rent a suitable place (> 50 sq.m) for 645 EUR per month. Apart from including my name in my wife's passport and she taking the A1 exam, is there any other issue to have in mind? How involved is the process of getting a dependent visa in my situation? Is the salary-rent calculation alright?
