Every Indians should keep yourself aware about the 498a and Domestic Violence law of India which is being misused at alarming rate.Those who are married or plan to marry in India be aware about this law.Your wife only needs to file a false FIR and without any investigation you and your entire family even relatives,small kids and even friends gets arrested and put in jail.This is a big extortion racket and more than 60000 people in India committed suicide this year only because of 498a harrasment.Please watch this video.

If you are working with a German company which plans to send you to India for few years, reading such message can prove to be useful. Also keeping in mind there are so many Indians registered on this forum who are living here since years and are not aware with laws mentioned by Mrinal81, reading something like this is not useless infact, creates awareness.

What the problem have you got? Had he started number of threads with same content, then I would have understood your hue and cry. Show some tolerance.

The reason for me start this post is to make the fellow Indians aware about the law which is mostly used against NRI as an extortion racket and inspite of Indian Supreme court calling it a legal terrorism still it could not be ammended because of this law Womens organisations and Lawyers are making a lot of Income.
There are many NRI men who are suffering because of this law and every day more and more cases coming up so its good to be aware about it.

We should all fight against this gender biased law which is destroying our family structure.
Its ridiculous that police arrest the man and his entire family along with his aged parents with the complaint of a wife and the police even don't investigate and put them in jail without asking for any proof.Just imagine going to jail what the family has to go through.Using such laws a women can settle her score easily with her in laws for small issues and even threaten the husband and make him live like her slave entire life.

This is ridiculous and complete Human rights violation.
