my wife has applied for a german spouse visa in the month of Feb, the ABH has informed me that the Urkundenprüfung has been issued and the visa will be processed after the result. Could anyone tell what is meant by this Urkundenprüfung? and how long it normally takes?

Hi,

Word "Urkundenprüfung" meaning Certificate examination. They actualy asked for your marriage certificate varification. This will normally take up to 4-12 weeks. You have to be patience here.

Hello Ajay,

Yes your wife get a letter from Chennai embassy for marriage verification. This process is triggered by ABH in Germany. In letter you are asked to provide few photos, marriage certificate and INR. This process required 4-12 weeks.

If You are lucky enough you are excluded with this verification process.

Yes you can ask Chennai embassy in which stage is your visa process.
