Hello all,

i am studying in Germany from last 7years and still doing my research. When i entered germany I quickly invited my wife here and now she is also with me from last 7years and since one year she is working now. She has unlimited working contact with the company but still she is no dependent visa.My question is:
Can my wife become now independent to me or i become dependt on her status as she has secured job.
Can we apply for nationality in few months on the basis of the job of my wife although she is on dependent visa.
I really could not find anything about this situation so please help.

Regards.

Which bundesland? In some bundesländer study time doesn't count to get the citizenship.

@thread starter

Whats your visa status? Niederlassungserlaubnis(unlimited) or limited?

If you have NE, you can apply for citizenship though you have limited work contract since your wife has an unlimited work contract.

If you don't have NE, first check whether you could get NE. (though it is not necessary that you should possess NE to apply for citi...you can directly apply for citizenship)

Which state or city do you live...coz for Bayern applicant,they look for 60 months rente(pension) payment.

bottom line is: you can apply for citizenship based on your wife's unlimited work contract since in Germany a spouse is obliged to support the other.

so you mean we can apply for citizenship on the basis of my wifes unlimited work contract and our eight years of stay in germany although my wife is on dependent visa.

Am i right?

Yes...right...

You can have an appointment with your einbürgerungsamt. They will give you the precise information.
