Investing for your child future

I would like to get sound advice from friends here regarding investment for a child's future.
I have read a lil bit about bank giving spar plan and educational insurance(ausbildungsversicherung) etc etc .its a bit confusing for me .Hence any one doing some investment in the name of their child for their future in Germany please share your views and send in advice. I would like to know which bank offers the best schemes.
