Hi folks,

I would be happy if one could share with me his/her valuable experience regarding this problem. I am an iranian single man with a 3 year work permit in germany. I have just started 2 months ago here. I will be marrying with my wife(also iranian) who is in Iran now on june. Can i get a residence permit for her? Please note that the marriage happens after i got my residence permit and so i am concerend if this would be an issues(cuz i had heard that you can only get visa for ur wife if you married before you got the residence permit).

I sincerely appreciate ur help.
PS: I have permanent resident status of canada although it may not be helpful here.

"....that you can only get visa for ur wife if you married before you got the residence permit)" Do a search in this forum using the words "Spouse Visa". Obviously the best thing is to consult your Ausländerbehörde, or the German Consulate in Iran.
