Since one year lufthansa is consitently selling the tickets to one destination from Munich as a direct flight and later offers the alternate route. Usually passengers tend to prefer direct flights over the flights with one stop and sometimes even by paying higher price. In this case if lufthansa cancels the route after selling the expensive ticket, customer has to accept the alternate route. Ofcourse the money back option would be available in this case but there is no guarantee to get the ticket lesser price by other airline.

It could be the better business strategy for selling the tickets for direct flight and then looking at response cancel the direct flight and offer the alternate route.

In my opinion this is an unfair practice.

If anybody knows if customer has some rights in this case? Can a customer register a complaint somewhere?
