Questions regarding the Blue Card

Hi,

I made an appointment for the Äusländerbehörde for a Blue Card application but I still have some questions...
1. Does a degree in computer science qualify as "scientists, mathematicians, engineers, doctors, and IT specialists" for a job also between 34.944€ and 44.800? My job contract says "... als Programmierer für den Bereich Softwareentwicklung".

2. How do I prove to the Ausländerbehörde that my degree is equivalent to a German one? My school is listed in Anabin as a H+ institute, is it enough? Anabin does not list any particular degree programs from it, though.

3. I have a TestDaF certificate with rank "4". Will it eventually qualify as a B1 certificate after 21 months?

Thanks,
Nadav

hi,

well whether your computer science programming degree is equal to german degree you need to check with the work office in your place "arbeitamt"...they have a section which advices you on this issue...further there is the new german law according to which you need to get your degree verified to see if it meets the german standards.....No you need to contract  the academic office in arbeitamt .... from there they connect you to the office concerned for you case...

i did the same for my degree verification...

thanks

Another important fact is that my graduation was well over 5 years ago. If I understand correctly, in that case the degree itself is unimportant.

[Edit: I read further and understood that if the pay is >44.800€ then such an evaluation is required.]
