you can also call your Health insurance company and ask for the history of your social security(rente) paid. If you have changed the insurance company inbetween then you have call the previous insurance company also for that period. They will fax it immediately. This is what i did for my NE application.

It does not take so long. For me, i always get those letter from Deutsche Rentenversicherung in 1 week. Have you submitted the correct form online? May be try it again.

Yes, that's correct and there you have to select "Versicherungsverlauf/Rentenauskunft", enter other deatils and submit.
