Hi All,

It is regarding delay in Chennai embassy for spouse visa.

I called up Chennai embassy and the officer who handles my case is on leave till march 20. There is great chance that they ask for legalisation of marriage. Can anyone know what all documents I can submit in order to make the process at least little bit fast.

Thank you very much for your help.

Best regards,
NM.

If at all you have shown the marriage album while applying for visa, i dont think you can make it faster with the legalisation. They give the task to a private agency who then submit a report to the embassy. But be ready to bear the costs in the range of 300-500 Euros.

hey

nothing is gonna happen even we rush things.

Legalisation is the best i guess .As they say it will take 4 to 6 weeks exactly after 6 weeks we get answer.

Even legalisation not done , In future for soem other purpose they might ask to do.so if they ask for legalisation please take coupel of pictures and all the proofs.

things should be fine.

cheers,pac

What do you think about the following scenario...

You are working here in Germany and go to India for vacations..like 4 weeks. In India you get marry and want to bring your wife with you...Is it possible to get it processed in two three week time frame? Any experiences...??

Invite your would-be-wife on 3-months-tourist-visa to germany, get married in local Standesamt and after expiry of tourist-visa send her back to India to apply for spouse visa. Since the marriage took place in Germany(and also in Standesamt) there is not much for them to investigate and your visa would be processed quickly.

That's true. But a GC friend of mine got married in India and the german embassy took 10 months for the spouse visa to process. So, six months doesn't look so bad to me.

Help yourself with this link:

2. Atleast 500 euros.

He had to pay around 400 Euro for the investigation(Detective etc.), which is not required if married in Germany.

why don't you get married in "las vegas"? you just need your passports and drop the documents to german embassy there and get's legalized in just one or two months. since you get married in the usa, the documents are legalized everywhere as well having nice holiday.

Hallo,

i got my Spouse'S VISA within 4 weeks, They never questioned me anything or my wife in Embassy.

Documents i submitted:
=====================
- Letter of Invitation in German.
- My Passport/VISA Copy.
- Marriage Certificate attested by Ministry of External Affairs Delhi,
- Verpflicherklärung attested by Rathaus For Spouse
- Medical Insurance ( yes i did before her arrival)
- Letter from your company stating your designation & Salary.
- Recent Salary Slips
- Mietvertrag for Wohnung

In your case better to provide Marriage Certificate attested by Ministry of External Affairs Delhi, Thats the Key,

If possible correspond all things in German, it works better.

Cheers
Venkatesh

Hi Venkatesh,
How did u do the attestation from Ministry of external affairs ? What is the exact procedure?

Also now since they are on the verge of deciding legalisation for me can I tell that I can get attestation, will it stop them from legalisation and can i save time?

Best regards,
Noby.

For attestation u hav to first go to ur area SDM(where marriage held and if ur marriage certificate is not issued by that area SDM).He will do some inquiry ask some questions and attest it then u take ur docs to MEA they wll attest on the same day or take one day.
remember if ur marriage certificate is issued by SDM then u can directly go to the MEA .
