I think you guys have discussed this title to death but I have a simple question.

How long before my visa expires can I apply for NE? I was GC then a BE visa holder.

I was here in Aug 2001, but there is 7 month period when I was not in DE (However I can justify that this was for Research purposes). Does anyone know how the total duration is calculated in this case.
