Although I have been living in Germany for 7+ years, never took initiative to take up any additional insurances that are not mandotory but nice to have. However I am seriousely considering to obtain the following insurance.

Haftpflicht (Liability Insurance), Hausrat (Household insurance) and Rchtschutz (Legal insurance).

Are there any suggessions on having them economically and with reliability?
Which companies are good from expats point of view?
Are these insurances offered in combination covering family?

Any information available on this will be great to have.

Liability Insurance does not cost much. Most of the insurers offer riders which extend cover to the whole family.
