My friend got married in November 2004 and the Rathhouse has changed the tax
class from one to three in lohnsteuer card for 2005. But the tax class is
not changed in 2004’s lohnsteuer card.

Will he get the benefits of new tax class in November and December 2004?
Will he get some tax returns for the year 2004 because of the marriage ?( by
showing only the marriage certificate)

maybe not.
I did it in Jun and it was changed for whole year.
I think 31.6. is deadline for whole year.

AFAIK, even if you marry on the 31st of December you will get the benefits for the whole year when you file your tax return.

Get in contact with the Finanzamt for the specifics.

Then I got a quite good reimburshment :-).
