I am working in Germany on work permit procured by my employer and this is valid for 1 more year. But my assignment in Germany ends in next two months.
My question is how long after my assigment ends can I legally stay in Germany. Do I have to leave the same day say 31st October or if I am legally allowed to stay in Germany for a month or so after my assignemnt ends ??

If your visa states that your visa is invalid when you do not have a job - then you are illegal after the contract ends. But this is not generally the case.


If you have worked here for more than 1 year then you are entitled to get unemployment money for 6 months.

No I have worked here only for 6 months and since my employer is not based in germany I was not paying social security or Unemployment insurance.
Can you pls suggest more on this.

we need a lot more data to answer:
what country are you from?
what exactly is written in your pass?

but i am afraid you can not stay (just guessing).
unless you find new job shortly
