I have been reading at several places that Driving in Germany doesn't require special "International Driving Permit", Regular Drivers License should be fine for first 6 months.

I have been driving on Delhi roads for over 5 years and i am holding a Driver's License from Noida(UP) which is in English.

Can someone confirm, is it worth spending time and money for obtaining an IDP in India? does this have any value in Germany?

Your information is correct. no need for special international license.

you can use your normal indian for 6 months in germany. after that you need to convert.....
