Would like to know if any body has applied recently for emplyment visa in Chennai consulate.

Hi Chaitanya,

I had applied for an employment visa at chennai consulate on sep 9th.

The visa officer said that they will write me an email once they get the final decision from Germany.

I am waiting for the approval.

Can you provide me your contact number or mail id?

Would like to know if we need to get this document from the company or not:

They have mentioned Demand Draft, whats the amount and on whose name we need to take that.

Hi Sandeep,

The Vorabpruefung is not mandatory. If you provide this approval, the process will be little fast. Else the consulate from India will send your application to the Local Imigration office. This office does all the check and sends the approval back to the consulate. Then consulate writes you a email for visa stamping.

But there are cases who got the approval in 1 day. They did not submitted any pre approval. When observed, it looks like people who are going to Berlin gets approval very soon. But I am not completely sure.

The value of the demand drafts changes based on the exchange rate. Currently the value of the DD should be 4800. Please refer the following link

In my case, the German Employer provided the document. It has to be signed by the employer and a company seal should be there in the doc. They sent the document via courier.

Couple of questions from application form:

18) Will you be accompanied by members of your family? If so, where? ***)
27b) Do you have health insurence cover for Germany?

My wife will be joining me after 6 months, not sure what to write over there.

My company has already started initiation of Health insurance process, TK is the provider name. I havent received any card from the same.

Another quick one, question 7) & 8) they are asking details about spouse and kids address. Do we need to put the place where i am staying in Indian for "Wohnort/Residence"

The residence of your spouse and kids. I guess, they are in India at the moment.
