Hi,

I was on student visa from

September-2003 to April-2007 (44 months)

and on work permit (Aufenthaltserlaubnis) from

May-2007 till now July-2010 (38 months).

I heard from my friends that I am eligible for NE, since based on a new rule student visa period (actually half of it) is taken into account for NE calculation.

So I have 22 (i.e. 44/2) from student period and 38 from working period. Totally it is 60 months.

1. could anyone point to the rule that says about the student period taken into consideration/

2. Also anyone can tell me about their experience with applying NE in Frankfurt am Main.

Hi Ram,
Myself and my friend got NE/D-EG in ffm.
Just take 90(or 80?) euros money and passport and go
to AB and it is a matter of half an hour. In our case there is no waiting/processing period for N.E.
They straight away gave the N.E..and case officers
are frau.L.a.k.o.t.a/frau b.a.y.l.o.n.
B.T.W why N.E ?? why not Daueraufenthalt-EG ?.
just go to AB and ask them.
