I am planning to by a car and been stuck with choices:

BMW 520D
Audi A6 2.0 TDI

Which one shall I go for ? Any insights would be appreciated!

Iam also searching for a second hand car (~5000€). Which car (brand) r which type u suggest.

Any general suggations for 2nd hand cars??

you should not think about the brand name, you should pay attention to the one you will buy it from!

Try to find a private owned car, don't buy from a dealer!

If you are not a technical specialist you should have a close look to the seller. Is he the 1st owner (probably hard to find for 5.000,- €) but the car should not have had more than 3 owners. How long did the guy who offers the car owned the car?

If he owned it just for a couple of month... be careful!

Try to find a car from an old man, like me ;- who does not want to drive anymore or who orderd a new car and wants to get some € more than the new car dealer would pay him.

Alltogether, the previous owner is more important than the brand of the car.

For new license holders following points should be considered

1. cost of insurance for the car as it is prohibitively expensive for first timers and high end cars.
2. drive a old car for the first few years before moving on to a costly car so you can save on the costly repairs on dings and scratches ;-).
