Schengen visit visa for my parents

Hi All

The first 2 years of my blue card is going to expire in Mar 2015 and I am thinking for applying Schengen visit visa for my parents to come here in Germany from 1 Mar 2015 for 90 days. Will the blue card expiration create any issue for their visit visa.

need to have valid visa for time period of visit visa for parents
