Hi All,

first of all its a good news that Blue Card is entering into EU.

currently I have this visa..

§18 Abs.4.S.1 AufenthG Beschäftigung gemäß §9 BeschVefVerlaubt

which is going to expire on 17th of this month and have an appointment on 25th.

and this is my current position..working as IT professional earning around 40k and completed masters at FH in 2008 and having experience about 31 months and I got current visa status last year in may.

Can any one please tell me for what type of visa can I apply, blue card or NE..or just have to extend the current visa.

Hi,

I think according the new law, your salary is less than 48KE, so you can't apply for a NE.
I think in your case, you will need to apply for a normal extension, which probably will be for 2 years more. YOu could use the fact of having a German diploma to get a NE probably.

thanks for the reply..and I have one more question regarding electronic visa card.

my wife has this card which is a new..and she need to extend the visa..normally how many days it should take to get the extended card.
