Dear Visa Applicants & Others on this forum,

Thank you for posting some really useful information about the visa application and processing. This really breaks some stress associated with the application. 

I would like to understand, on an average, how many days does the German Consulate in Mumbai take to process the Work Visa (Category D)?

Though, I have read a few posts already that clearly states that this time period varies from 4 to 8 weeks. But, is there anyone for whom it actually took more than 4 weeks? And, if yes, what was the time period it took for your visa to have processed through Mumbai office?

And also, would you know the reasons for this longer processing period cos in most cases it has been around 2 weeks.

Be cool. Dont know the reason for delay. So please wait upto 8 weeks. You cannot fasten the process anyways.

I did not have a pre-authorization letter from the German government/ Federal agency. I had a contract with my company in Germany which I had submitted for the work visa. That should suffice. Even though a letter from federal agency would mean much quicker turn-around time from what I understand.

anybody waiting for the visa approval? My friend had applied on 5th July 2017.

I am still waiting for my visa approval. I apperead at the consulate in Mumbai on 2nd July '17.

I faced a problem during the interview, the interviewer told me that my ZAV (pre-work approval) was incorrect, and asked me to submit a revised copy of it. Luckily, the relocation agency that is helping me managed to get a revised copy on the same day. I submitted this new version via email, as instructed by the consulate. But I still haven't heard from them. Frankly, I am a bit worried because of the glitch occured during the process. 

Did anyone else had to go through a similar ordeal? Could you kindly share your experience?
