Hi,

A friends situation:

Studiesd master till Dec 2014
Started job from Feb 2015 on 18 Nr. work permit.
Now after 14 months he got restication letter as company is downsizing. Now he has 2 months to serach for a new job.
Now my question is what if he dont find a job in next 2 months. As he is here on visa nr. 18 which specifically says that work is allowed in the stated company. Once he find a job definately he can change that. But what if he did not find a joby by the end of June. What would be his options? Can he saty here further and search for job. If yes how long? Can he apply for Arbeitlosengeld and for how long can he get that.

He is really depressed at the moment any help would be appreciated.
Hope to have some advice soon.
