On the topic of inability to work due to illness following an earlier post

in a fresh ruling the BAG (Federal Labour Court ) has just highlighted that the employer has discretion to demand from his employee  - who is sick and unable to perform his work - a doctor´s certificate from the very first day of his illness.

BAG, dated, 14. 11. 2012 ‑ 5 AZR 886/11
