Hi,

Here is my checklist before applying Pension Refund from India. I hope this will help in preparing future applications for others and the experienced people can alert me if I do anything wrong.

* Completed the waiting period of 2 years.
(The wait period starts from the time when one stopped paying pension contribution. This is confirmed by the employee of DRV).

# Abmeldung was done
# Following Documents need to be prepared
* Form V900 (Application of Refund)
* Form A1055 (To be confirmed by Chennai Consulate)
* Form R851 (Payment Declaration)
* Copy of Abmeldung
* Copy of Proof of Address in India
# Send it to "Deutsche Rentenversicherung Bund,
10704 Berlin"

I have following questions regarding this.

! Is it required to send Form A1055 even if the confirmation stamp was done in Germany (V900, Page 1, Bottom Section)?

! If I opt for Bank-Account in India, what will be the transfer charges? Is it possible to mention friend´s account in Germany?

If u have a friend in germany(in particular in the city where you are applying for pension), the best way is to go in person and apply.

I applied for my friend and I did not submit all the docs mentioned by you ( like addr proof in india). I gave my account and in turn transferred to my friend, entire process took around 4 weeks.

I checked the RV website and forwarded the required docs to my friend, it was in 2007, so
unfortunately I do not remember.
