Im from India(most of u people must be knowing :-) with surname SINGH. I went to standsamt to officially register my marriage,they r creating problem for my wife(german nationality) to use my surname.They r sayin that SINGH belongs to a religious group and in germany it is not allowed to use.if someone has faced this problem or someone know about the solution then pls tell.I really find their reason very stupid and unlogical.

Well thats quite a stupid logic. well I certainly know a lot of people who have german citizenship and also carry the surname Sing. I propose that you get in touch with a family lawyer expert in Immigration to discuss your issue. Goodluck Mani
